John Robert Hopkins, Jr. age 72 of Whigham, Georgia passed away at his home Monday, November 20, 2023 with his family by his side. John was the son of John, Sr. and Elanor Hopkins, born on February 2, 1951 in Woodward, Oklahoma.

Mr. Hopkins spent his younger years working in the oil field, mainly in his home state of Oklahoma and then in Arkansas. John had spent the last eleven years of his life in Whigham with his loving wife Gloria, enjoying his down time woodworking, tinkering on cars. He was well renowned for his restoration skills on classic cars. He also enjoyed playing games on his computer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his step-son: Kevin Davis.

He is survived by his wife Patricia “Gloria” Hopkins of Whigham; children: Donna Russell and Sheila Stedman; stepchildren: Lisa (Frankie) Key and Judy (Melburn) Bailey; grandchildren: Terrell Underhill, Sammy Underhill, Jonnie Sue (Phillip) Evans, PJ Bailey, Sarah (Eddie) Key, Deanna Key, Jennifer (Bobby) Vandenhouten, Devin Bailey, and Akai Key; great-grandchildren: Chrissy Vanderhouten, Skylar Evans, Case Vandenhouten, and Hudson Evans; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
