Pamalina Kay Gonzalez, a lifelong resident of Baker County, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at her home at the age of 53. She was born in Gainesville to the late Willine Smith and was raised by loving grandparents, Sammy and Laverne Nelson.
Pam’s world was her grand babies. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother. She loved being outdoors and fishing. Mrs. Pam played an instrumental role at Macedonia Cemetery for the last ten years alongside her husband Donnie, helping families who had lost a loved one find the perfect resting place. She will be remembered for her outgoing spirit and her caring smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, stepdaughter: Andrea Ravan; and a granddaughter: Miah Kay Powless.
She leaves behind her loving husband of sixteen years, Mr. Donnie Gonzalez of Baxter; sons: Coy (Lacey) Powless and Dustin (Cortney) Powless both of Macclenny; step daughter: Donna (Josh) Nelson of Macclenny; grandchildren: Gracie, Coy, Jr., Sammie, Maddie, Axel, Darrin, Corvin, Skyelar, and Noah; siblings: Jimmy Nelson and Lekisha Dinkins both of Taylor; and extended family members.
Funeral services to honor Pam’s life will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Hodges, Jr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and she will be laid to rest in Macedonia Cemetery following the service.
