Sylvia Michele Cook

Sylvia Michele Cook, better known as Michele or Shelly, age 57 of Macclenny passed away on January 25, 2024 after an extended illness. Michele was born on July 24, 1966 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville to Wanda and John Bailey, Sr. She resided in Jacksonville for most of her life and eventually met her husband Randy Cook through mutual friends before moving to Macclenny.

Michele was a die hard Georgia Bulldog fan, loved camping, fishing, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, MB and Margaret Charles and Mary and John E. Bailey; father: John H. Bailey, Sr.; brothers: Michael Bailey, Sr. and John Bailey, Jr.; and a sister: Pamela Blaacker.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirty six years, Mr. David “Randy” Cook, Sr. of Macclenny; daughters: Ellen Cook of Macclenny and Margaret Copeland of Jacksonville; son: David Cook, Jr.; grandchildren: Izaiah Cook, Annsleigh Glasgow, Kathryn Cook, Albany Glasgow, Natalie Copeland, and Emma Copeland; mother: Wanda (Charles) Bailey of Macclenny; siblings: Jay “Timmy” Blanchard of Macclenny, Melburn (Judy) Bailey of Georgia, Stephanie (Tim) Kenny and Mary Ann Bailey both of Macclenny; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family.

A Celebration of Michele’s life will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home with Chaplain Terry Yerby officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM in the chapel. Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery.

Family asks that you wear red, black, or purple as those were Michele's favorite colors.
