Alphia Elizabeth Davis

Alphia Elizabeth Davis, age 95 of Glen St. Mary passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born in Macclenny on October 3, 1926 to the late Mr. Harris and Mary Ann (Green) Tyson. She would graduate from Baker County High School, salutatorian of the class of 1944. She would go on to work for many years for the Baker County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Paul Thrift, as well as seventeen years with the Property Appraiser’s Office.

Until her passing, Ms. Alphia was the oldest living and founding member of Christian Fellowship Temple and was heavily involved in the church for many years. She was a caring woman and a loving friend to everyone she knew. She enjoying fishing and hunting in her younger years. Ms. Alphia treasured the time she had to spend with her family, most particularly her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Lacy (RV) Green, Ovid (Willa Lee) Green, and Jessie (Clarence) Bivens; and her beloved husband of sixty-five years: Mr. James C. Davis.

She is survived by her son: Jeffrey “Jeff” (Sue) Davis of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren: Kristin (John) Sharman, Josh (Casey) Davis, and Jeremiah (Brooklyn) Davis all of Glen St. Mary; twelve great-grandchildren; as well as extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Christian Fellowship Temple with Pastor David Thomas officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the beginning of services. Interment will follow at South Prong Cemetery.
