In her free time, Ms. Alta enjoyed cooking for family and friends and crocheting.

Ms. Alta worked many years as a secretary for Cane Balkman in Jacksonville and for the Baker County Supervisor of Elections under Mr. John J. Barton and Mrs. Anita Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters-in-law: Shirley Long, Becky Long, and Carol Hinkle; and her beloved husband of 54 years: Mr. Cletus Hinkle.

She is survived by her children: Michael Hinkle and Julie (Albert) Cox of Maccleny and LuAnne Hardee of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren: Garrett Hardee, Joel Cox, and Joshua (Sophia) Cox; great-grandson: Jamie Cox; brothers: Buddy (Marsha) Long of Lake Butler and Gene Long of Macclenny; sister: Carolyn Gainey of Macclenny; brother-in-law: Bob Hinkle of Missouri; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will be receiving friends Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Raiford Road Church.
