Anna Marie Wagers

Anna Marie Wagers, age 86 of Moniac passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She was born on July 8, 1935 in Redland, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Steve and Susie (Lollis) Jordan. She would marry Mr. James Wagers, and together they would spend nearly sixty-seven years until his passing in 2019. With James in the United States Navy, they would eventually settle in the Jacksonville area where Ms. Anna would reside until moving to Charlton County to be closer to her son.

Anna would work for many years for the Duval County Public Schools as a cafeteria manager. In her younger years, Ms. Wagers enjoyed fishing (catching but not eating). Later on she found interest and skill in sewing and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Jerry Jordan, Billy Jordan, Bonnie Haymond, as well as an infant brother; son-in-law: John Anderson; daughter: Susan Shoemaker; and her beloved husband: James Wagers.

She is survived by her children; Gerald “Tony” (Molly) Wagers of Moniac, Karen (Roddy) Blair and Nancy Anderson both of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Donnie Jordan of Odessa, Missouri and Wanda Ramsey and Shirley Rogers both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; as well as numerous extended family members.

Final memorialization will be by cremation and private services will be held in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
