Edna E. Samonte, age 84 of Atlantic Beach passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Baptist Beaches Medical Center. Edna was born in Taylor on September 24, 1939 to the late Mr. Willis and Mrs. Lula (Fowler) Conner. She spent the first half of her life in Baker County but had enjoyed the last forty years in Atlantic Beach.
Edna worked for many years as a waitress and had a heart for cooking and taking care of others. She enjoyed watching westerns in her free time. She will be dearly missed as a mama, grandmother, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Ida Mae Knight, Mary Frances Combs, and Edgar Conner; and her loving husband: Joe Samonte.
She leaves behind to cherish years of memories, her children: George “Pete” (Joann) Parish of Glen St. Mary, Jose Samonte and Maria Samonte both of Atlantic Beach; grandchildren: Lori O’Neal, Kevin Williams, Stephanie Davis, George “Little Man” Parish, Jr., and Joseph Parish; twenty great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family members.
Final memorialization will be by cremation.
