Ellie Erma Lauramore

Ellie Erma Lauramore, a lifelong resident of Baker County, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born in Taylor at home on February 6, 1931 to the late Hardy and Carrie (Hogan) Rhoden, the youngest of thirteen children.

Ellie would attend Baker County schools and go on to work at the Northeast Florida State Hospital in occupational therapy until her retirement.

Most important in Miss Ellie’s life, above everything else, was The Lord. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Church and loved her church family and studying her bible. She was a family-oriented woman, a devoted wife for many years, and a caring mother. She was also very close with all of her siblings. In her spare time, Miss Ellie enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; and her beloved husband of thirty-seven years: Mr. James Carlton “J.C.” Lauramore in 1985.

She leaves behind two children: Merrill (Karen) Lauramore of Glen St. Mary and Karla (David C. III) Boy of Johns Creek, Georgia; grandchildren: Ruth (Kevin) Boy Lykins, David C. (Fabienne) Boy IV, and Joshua (Sheree) Lauramore; great-grandchildren: Adam Lykins, Andrew Lykins, Benjamin Lykins, Elizabeth Lykins, David C. Boy V, Heath Boy, Harper Boy, Stellan Lauramore, Paisley Lauramore, Leah Jones, Laree Hodges, and Laney Hodges; as well as a host of extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Church with Pastor Shane Conner officiating and Rev. Bobby Griffin assisting. The family will be receiving friends at the church at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
