Francis Paul Cassidy, Jr.

Francis Paul Cassidy, Jr. age 75 of Middleburg passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincents Clay County. He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on January 9, 1947 to the late Mr. Francis and Mrs. Louise (Straub) Cassidy.

Best known as “Paul”, Mr. Cassidy would spend over fifty years on the road as a truck driver, something he was very passionate about. He wed the love of his life, Mrs. Deborah Higginbotham on April 8, 1978 and together they spent over forty-five years. Paul was a big-hearted man who loved to joke around and make others laugh. He and Deborah were members for several years at the Foster Drive Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: James Cassidy, Kathy Hovey, and Mary Thompson; and children: Francis Paul Cassidy V, Angela Arnold, and Cheryl Cassidy.

He is survived by his loving wife: Deborah Cassidy of Middleburg; children: Owen Cassidy and Lisa Cassidy both of Middleburg; grandchildren: Francis Cassidy VI, Kevin Cassidy, Brandi Cassidy, George Anderson, Josh Anderson, Johnathan Arnold, Christina Shrimpton, and Kaitlynn Shrimpton; numerous great-grandchildren; brother: William Cassidy, Sr. of Salt Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
