Gary Owen Ploucher

Gary Owen Ploucher, a longtime Macclenny resident, passed from this life in the comfort of his home on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the age of 75. He was born in Lake City on June 24, 1948 to Mr. Ted and Addie Longstreet. Gary worked the majority of his life in the construction field, many years as a superintendent. When he was not providing for his family at work, you could find Gary on the water fishing or in the woods hunting. He was an avid outdoorsman who lived for his time with family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving and fearless man.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Longstreet.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Ploucher of Macclenny; children: Corey (Melissa) Ploucher and Michelle (Robert) Renteria both of Sanderson; grandchildren, who were his world: Gary Allen Davis, Daniel Davis, Shane Davis, Derek Ploucher, Alisha Ploucher, Erica Hunter, Trace Ploucher, and Hunter Ploucher; sixteen great-grandchildren; mother: Addie Longstreet of Converse, Texas; siblings: Larry (Karen) Ploucher of North Carolina, Bobby (Gale) Ploucher of Spring Branch, Texas, Becky (Ken) Krieling of Live Oak, Texas, and Cathy Heilgo of Springfield, Massachusetts; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Glen Friendship Tabernacle at 7:00 PM with Dr. Albert Starling officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 PM at the church.
