Gary Lynn Thomsen, Sr.

Gary Lynn Thomsen, Sr., age 71 of Old Town, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Haven Tri-Counties Hospice Center after an extended illness. Gary was born in Aitkin, Minnesota on December 29, 1951, to the late Mr. Donald and Marjorie (Fettic) Thomsen, one of eleven children.

Gary would proudly serve his country in the United States Navy and later received his Associates degree. He worked for many years as a subcontractor in the construction industry. In his later years, Gary loved to spend time with his grandchildren and enjoyed being on the water. He will be remembered as a loving and loyal husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of forty-nine years in 2021, Mrs. Phyllis Thomsen.

He is survived by his children: Gary Thomsen, Jr. of Arkansas, Zak (Delcena) Thomsen of Old Town, Joshua Thomsen of Washington, and Jada (Doug) Yarbrough of Arkansas; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers: Danny, Timothy, and David all of Minnesota, Shannon of Wisconsin, and Paul and Terry both of Texas; sisters: Sydney Rosekan, Joyce Thomsen, and Rebekah Thomsen all of Minnesota, and Karen Bernhard of Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
