Glenn Alton Jewell, Jr.

Glenn Alton Jewell, Jr. age 76 of Baxter passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 after an extended illness at Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County, born on December 4, 1946 in Baxter to the late Mr. Glenn and Louise (Yonn) Jewell, Sr. He worked for over fifty years as a truck driver and was very passionate about his occupation.

In his free time, Glenn liked hunting and fishing, watching the Florida Gators, and loved to enjoy an ice-cold beer. Mr. Jewell was one who liked to joke around and give family and friends a hard time.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Mose Jewell, David Jewell, and Eunice Jewell; a great-grandson: Kyler Wade Sapp; and his beloved wife: Willine Jewell.

He is survived by his loving children: Sherry (Dale) Stevens, Stacey (Jesse) Jones both of Blackshear, Georgia, Bo (TJ) Jewell of Patterson, Georgia, Scott (Julianne) Jewell of Alma, Georgia, Brian (Jessica) Jewell of Glen St. Mary, Michael Jewell and Pam (Donnie) Gonzalez both of Baxter, and Lekisha Dinkins and Jimmy (Michelle) Nelson both of Cuyler; thirty grandchildren; thirty two great-grandchildren; siblings: Tom Boy Jewell and Mary (James) Crews both of Baxter, Connie (Danny) Wilkerson of Macclenny, and Carrie Jewell of Gainesville; sister-in-law: Latrelle Jewell; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the funeral home at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at North Prong Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Howard, Brandon Davis, Tyler Nelson, Coy Powless, Dustin Powless, and Jamie Davis.
