James Hodges Obituary

James Mitchell Hodges, age 58 of Macclenny passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside Hospital in Jacksonville. James was a lifelong resident of Macclenny, born on June 27, 1962 to the late Mr. James Willard Hodges and Mrs. Faye (Hartley Lambert) Hodges. He worked for many years in the steel industry. In his free time, James enjoyed the outdoors, his hobbies including fishing and hunting. He also sold peanuts as a side job. He loved people and a good conversation. He enjoyed visiting the Smokey Mountains and most of all, spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He leaves behind to cherish the memories; his loving mother: Ms. Faye Hodges of Macclenny; daughter: Tammy (Jerimiah) Perdue of Oakhill, West Virginia; grandchildren: Sawyer and Hunter; brother: Ronald Hodges of Macclenny; sister: Carolyn (Joseph) Gibson of West End, North Carolina; as well as numerous extender family members and friends.

Graveside services to honor James’ life will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Oak Grove Cemetery.
