John Henry Bailey, Jr.

John Henry Bailey, Jr. of Glen St. Mary passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Memorial Hospital at the age of 54. Born in Jacksonville on March 22, 1969, John was the son of the late John Bailey, Sr. and Mrs. Wanda (Charles) Bailey. He had spent over thirty years as a resident of Baker County.

John was a man of several trades, a talented roofer and a skilled ‘shade tree’ mechanic. In his free time, Mr. Bailey enjoyed hunting, riding in the woods and loved going out on his motorcycle. He was an avid Florida Gator fan and above all, he was a proud father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, siblings: Michael Bailey and Pam Bailey; and his loving wife in 2009: Donna Bailey.

He is survived by his children: Sharlie (Eli) Bailey of McAlpin, Adam Mann and Andy Mann both of Macclenny; mother: Wanda (Charles) Bailey of Macclenny; grandchildren: Warren, Mary, Grace, Millie, Willow, John Adam, James, Hunter, Wyatt, JC, Anna, Tyler, and Alexis; girlfriend: Pamela Church; siblings: Stephanie (Tim) Kenny, Michelle (Randy) Cook, Melburn (Judy) Bailey, Maryann Bailey, and Timothy Blanchard; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. A funeral will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM with service location pending. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
