John David Higginbotham, III

John David “Davey” Higginbotham, III, age 45 of Glen St. Mary passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay County after an extended illness. David was born on June 17, 1977 to the late Mr. J.D. Higginbotham Jr. and Ms. Donna “Kay” (Harris) Higginbotham in Jacksonville. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County and a 1995 graduate of Baker County High School.

He owned and operated David Higginbotham Inc. Heating & Air and was dedicated to his work. He was one of the most kindhearted men you would meet. Davey loved people and making them laugh. Above all, he loved his family and was a devoted father.

He was preceded in death by his father: Mr. J.D. Higginbotham, Jr.

He leaves behind to cherish years of memories; his wife: Virginia (Barton) Higginbotham of Glen St. Mary; children: Chelsea Higginbotham of Macclenny, Skyler (Morgan) Higginbotham, Kylie Higginbotham, and Jada Higginbotham all of Glen St. Mary; stepchildren: Austin (Ashley) Smith of Glen St. Mary, and Justin Smith and Tiffany (Taylor) Mynes both of Macclenny; grandchildren: Anistyn, Jaxx, Taylor, Tanner, Houston, and Paisley; mother: Kay Higginbotham of Glen St. Mary; brother: Bryan (Jenna) Higginbotham of Glen St. Mary; father-in-law: Aubrey Barton of Glen St. Mary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 at Oak Grove Cemetery at 1:30 PM with Rev. Dale Hodges, Sr. officiating.
