Josette Sylvia Harris

Josette Sylvia Harris of Glen St. Mary passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the age of 76. She was born on November 28, 1947 in Melbourne to the late Julian and Louise (Lamberton) Deal. Josette was a loving woman, who care deeply for her children and grandkids. She loved yard sales and thrifting and worked for many years for Goodwill. She enjoyed sewing and cooking in her down time. While her family was her world, Josette cherished many friendships with countless people and was an all around caring woman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: David Deal and Danny Deal.

She is survived by two daughters: Sandra “Sandy” Rhoden of Glen St. Mary and Tina Smith of Bryceville; grandchildren: Christina (Matt) Oxendine, Jenny Cannady, Matthew (Miranda) Warren, Savanna Petrie, and Joseph Smith; great-grandchildren: Robert Canterbury, Maddie Lanham, Mya Oxendine, and Mackenzie Warren; siblings: Bennie Deal and Shirley (Edward) Young both of Jacksonville; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home at 3:00 PM.
