Joyce Marian Wright

Joyce Marian (Fitzsimmons) Wright, 88, of Macclenny, FL died peacefully Wednesday morning October 2, 2024. Joyce was born in Jacksonville, FL and lived there the majority of her life before moving to Baker County in 1998. She began working at the Florida Times-Union in 1954 where she met the love of her life, Keith R. Wright, whom were married 40 years prior to his death. Joyce later retired from the Florida Times Union as Assistant Credit Manager after more than 40 years of service.

Joyce was preceded in death by her late husband, Keith; parents and step-father, Charles D. Fitzsimmons and Lillie and Philip Spivack; 2 brothers, Robert and David Fitzsimmons and 1 sister, Alice Cunningham (Little Rock, AR). 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Pete Curtis (Macclenny, FL); grandson, Phillip Curtis (Panama City Beach, FL); 2 great-grandsons, Tyler and Talen Curtis; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
