Lanice Eugene Starling, Sr.

Mr. Lanice “Lannie” Eugene Starling, Sr. age 67 of Glen St. Mary passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County and was born in Macclenny on June 10, 1954 to the late Mr. Richard and Evelyn (Sweat) Starling. Lannie would work for many years as an automotive mechanic. In his spare time, Mr. Starling enjoyed being outside, hunting and fishing. He was a loving man and a dedicated grandpa above all else. He loved to have a good time with family and friends and liked to cut-up from time to time.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of seventeen years, Mrs. Casey Starling of Glen St. Mary; sons: Lanice “Gene” (Brandy) Starling Jr. of Macclenny and Madison Jones of Taylor; daughters: Crystal (Mark) Dawkins of High Springs and Jennifer Kish of Taylor; eight grandchildren; brothers: Gerald (Minnie) Starling, Vanice (Donna) Starling, and Wyman (Debbie) Manning; sister: Rose (Danny) Wells; as well as extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Glen Friendship Tabernacle with Pastor Albert Starling officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
