Linda Kay Davis

Linda Kay Davis, age 64 of Sanderson passed away on January 6, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on May 14, 1956 to the late Mr. Willis and Betty (Johns) Sweat in Starke. She married the love of her life, Dwight Davis in December of 1972 and together they spent many wonderful years. She dedicated thirty years of service to Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital in Macclenny, a job she loved and where she made many lifelong friends. She had a giving heart and was always trying to help others. She enjoyed going to casinos in her free time, but her favorite hobby above all was spoiling her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Dwight Davis; brothers: Albert Sweat and Larry Davis; sisters: Bettyann Tressler and Sandy Jean Sweat; and father and mother-in-law: Les and Bonnie Davis.

She leaves behind to cherish the years of memories; her children: Lenor (Donnie) Rosier of Baldwin and Dwight “Pete” Davis Jr. of Sanderson; grandchildren: Donnie (Stephanie) Rosier, Heather (Mitchell) Wight, Jessica Rosier, Dylan Rosier, Kason Davis and Bryson Davis; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Mandy (Andy Barefoot) Sweat, Diane (Mike) Craig, and Cheryl Davis all of Macclenny and Marilyn (Kenny) Barnes of Cuyler; brothers: David Sweat, Roger (Melissa) Davis of Cuyler and Allen (Paula) Davis of Sanderson; her best friend and partner in crime: Gezelle Barringer of Macclenny; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

The family will be receiving friends Friday, January 8, 2021 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Creek Cemetery with Rev. Allen Crews officiating.
