Lloyd Erwin Taylor

Lloyd Erwin Taylor, 65 of Glen St. Mary and a lifelong Baker county resident, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside. Mr. Taylor, known by most as “Erwin”, was born on February 20, 1955 to the late Mr. R.L. and Mrs. Hazel (Harvey) Taylor. He attended Baker county schools and went to work for CSX Transportation, where he dedicated forty-three years without ever missing a day. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He liked to spend time at Kingsley Lake with family, but most important to Erwin were his grandkids. Erwin was very handy and carpentry work was one of his other hobbies. He had a way with the elderly and children, always taking out time to make others feel important.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves behind to cherish many years of memories, his beloved wife of 32 years: Mrs. Myrtle (Burnham) Taylor of Glen St. Mary; children: Christopher (Sarah) Bullard of Macclenny, Erwin (Andrea) Taylor of Glen St. Mary, Katie (Mike) Hauge of Glen St. Mary, Marcia (Danny) Bumgarner of Ocala, and Crystal (Brandon) Stafford of Georgia; ten grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers: R.L. (Paula) Taylor and Darwin (Christine) Taylor all of Glen St. Mary; and a sister: Jana (Kenneth) Crews of Glen St. Mary.

The family will be receiving friends Monday, October 5, 2020 at Christian Fellowship Temple at 10:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tommy Richardson officiating and Pastor David Thomas assisting. He will be laid to rest following the conclusion of services at Taylor Cemetery.
