Mary Ernestine Boyce

Mary Ernestine Boyce, age 94 of Jacksonville passed away peacefully Saturday, February 13, 2021 at her home with family by her side. She was born in Alma, Georgia on October 28, 1926 to the late Mr. Thomas and Rena (Tanner) Peacock. Mrs. Ernestine worked for many years for Bell South before retiring. She remarried in her later years to Mr. Keith Boyce and they spent 24 years together. She loved to travel, going on cruises, and camping. On her and Mr. Keith’s first trip, they drove across country and saw the west coast on a twenty-eight-day trip. She loved to make jellies and pickles for family and friends as well. She was a beloved “Nanny” and enjoyed every moment she got to spend with her grandchildren. She was a prayer warrior for her family and was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Willine Peacock and Patsy Wells.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years: Mr. Keith Boyce of Jacksonville; daughter: Evelyn Parker of Sanderson; step-children: Keith Boyce Jr. of Jacksonville, Annette Bartlett of Marietta, Georgia and Vicky Strickland of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren: Carmen (Kurtis) Hort of St. Augustine and Stephen (Meagan) Parker Jr. of Glen St. Mary; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Yarborough, Kasey Yarborough, Payton Parker, Pierce Parker, Colbie Willis, and Tanner Willis; as well as other extended family members.

A Celebration of Mrs. Ernestine’s Life will be held Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Community Full Gospel Church with Pastor Tommy Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Community Full Gospel Church Building Fund in Mrs. Ernestine's honor.
