Mary Katherine Murray

Mary Katherine “Kathy” Murray of Jacksonville, passed away at the Alice and T. O’Neal Douglas Center for Caring in Jacksonville on Saturday, March 11, 2023 surrounded by her family at the age of 69. She was raised in Jacksonville, born on July 26, 1953 to the late Mr. Francis and Louise (Scott) Murray. She would attend Bishop Kenney High School.

Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family and trips to the beach. She loved reading her bible and listening to gospel music.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: James Murray and Betty (Gilbert) Gant; and her son: Daniel “Ronnie” Cain.

She is survived by her children: Jeremy (Amy) Cain of Macclenny and Angela Cain of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Lyric Murphy, Hannah (Tyler) Cribb, Garrett Cain, Kayla Collins, Julia Cain, Emma Cain, Kristin (Brandon) Robertson, Karissa (Randy) Davis, Zak Cain, Madison (Trevor) Brock, Dylan Fontaine, and Parker Fontaine; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings: Theresa (Dan) Powell, Leo (Gail) Murray, Eddie Murray, and Michele (Monroe) Clemmons; daughter-in-law: Carrie Cain; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM with Rev. Justin Griffis officiating. Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery.
