Mason Hudgens Obituary

Mason Lee Hudgens, age 37 of Middleburg passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Memorial Hospital. Mason was born on May 31, 1983 in Jackson, Mississippi to Ms. Margie Chesser. One of three brothers, Mason was an upbeat person who loved to joke around and was always the life of the party. He attended Forest Hills High School in Marshville, North Carolina, where he made many friends. Along with being a people person, he was an animal and nature lover. Mason enjoyed cooking and putting together meals for family and friends. He had no better satisfaction than preparing a meal that his family and friends enjoyed. Mason enjoyed music and attending concerts, skateboarding, and sports, football being his favorite. Most important to Mason was his family and friends, especially his mother. They spent so much time together and shared so many qualities, other family members jokingly called him “Mr. Margie”. Mason will be deeply missed by his mother, along with the rest of family and huge circle of friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Cody Hudgens; cousin: Julie Cantila; and Nana: Avis Sikes Wallace.

He leaves behind to cherish years of memories: his mother: Margie Chesser (Dale Pennell) of Middleburg; brother: Logan Hudgens of Whitsett, North Carolina; nephew: Chase Hudgens of Whitsett, North Carolina; uncles: Dave Chesser of Jacksonville, Jimmy Chesser of Folkston, and Gene (Jan) Chesser of Callahan; aunts: Doris Driskell of Princeton, Texas, Wanda (Ted) Shuman of Waycross, Georgia, and Karleene (Ron) Talley of Tucson, Arizona; as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Memorialization will be by cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family requests that trees be planted in memory of Mason in honor of his love of nature.
