Richard Gregory ("Ricky") Taylor

Richard Gregory “Ricky” Taylor, age 71 of Glen St. Mary passed away in the morning hours of Tuesday, July 16, 2024 with his family by his side. Ricky was the son of the late Milton and Lucille (Crews) Taylor, born in Jacksonville on April 3, 1953. Ricky attended Baker County schools and went on to receive his Associates Degree from Lake City Community College. He spent the majority of his life as a master auto-body repairman. He had a passion for all things Chevrolet and was a collector of cars and trucks, as well as odds and ends. He loved to spend time on the water and was an avid bass fisherman. Above all, Ricky was a friend. He offered his time, wisdom and advice to anyone in need and was one of the most caring men you could meet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Ronnie Taylor and Randy Taylor; and his mother and father-in-law: Raymond and Nadine Dopson.

He is survived by his beloved wife of forty years: Mrs. Teresa Taylor of Glen St. Mary; brothers: Rodney Taylor of Macclenny and Robbie (Kim) Taylor of Glen St. Mary; sister-in-law: Rosemary (Marty) Farnesi of Glen St. Mary; nieces and nephews: Lynn (William) Green, Quentin (Tabatha) Taylor, Jason Taylor, Milton (Michelle) Taylor, Jaime (John Farrell) Taylor, Jordy (Chelsey) Taylor, Chaise (Kaleigh) Taylor, and Danielle Farnesi; as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews, extended family members and many close friends.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Taylor Church with Rev. William Green, Bro. Robbie Taylor, and Rev. Oral Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery with Rev. Jim Cox officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home.
