Ruth Ann Caplinger

Ruth Ann Caplinger, 99 of Glen St. Mary passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ruth was born March 15, 1921 to the late Mr. Edward and Mrs. Martha (Lacamp) Thomas in Dearborn County, Indiana, one of four children. She spent her early life in Indiana before moving to the Miami area after her husband’s career in the military ended. She later spent time in Palatka and had resided in Baker County the last few years. She loved to sew and cook and enjoyed traveling. Ms. Ruth enjoyed a mostly private and independent life after the passing of her husband, Mr. Carl. They spent 67 joy filled years together until his passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers and her beloved husband: Mr. Carl Caplinger.

She is survived by her children: Joy (Randall) Chapman of Glen St. Mary and Jay (Tancy) Caplinger of Daytona Beach; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
