Sandra Elaine Crawford

Sandra Elaine Canaday Crawford, age 64 of Moniac passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at UF Health of Jacksonville. Sandra was a lifelong resident of the Georgia Bend, born on October 30, 1959 to the late Lonnie and Lois Jean (Burnsed) Canaday, Jr. Sandra would graduate from St. George High School and would go on to work for the school system in Charlton County, as well as Baker County in the cafeteria and as a bus driver. She also dedicated sixteen years of her life to the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier in Macclenny.

Outside of work, Sandra was a dedicated wife and incredibly loving and giving mother, sister and friend. She was a talented cook and loved to prepare meals for family and friends. She was one of the most caring and doting women you’d ever meet. She was the glue of her family. She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and nature, including birds and flowers. She enjoyed traveling and the thrill of rollercoasters. She will be remembered as an honest, hard-working and strong willed woman, who made everyone feel special and loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Timothy Canaday.

She is survived by her loving husband of forty-four years: Mr. Avery Crawford of Moniac; children: Allen Crawford of Macclenny and Julie Crawford of Jacksonville; a nephew she loved like a son: Tommy “Tiger” Allbright; one granddaughter: Winter Crawford; siblings: Phillip (Susan) Canaday and Jody (Rachel) Canaday both of Moniac, Vicki Cabler of Jacksonville, and Lisa (Dwight) Allbright of Macclenny; Sister-in-law: Sandra Kay Canaday of Moniac, as well as a host of nieces and  nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Final memorialization will be by cremation.
