Virginia Kirkpatrick Obituary

Ms. Virginia Ann "Aunt Ginger" Kirkpatrick, 84 of St. George passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born in Bainbridge, New York on May 2, 1935 to the late Mr. Bert and Myrlle Wiswell. She was soon thereafter adopted by Mr. William and Helen Schofield.

She spent many years in Columbus, Ohio where she worked in data entry for the United States Trotting Association. Thru the association she found her biological family and was reunited with them on February 14, 1994. Not much longer after this, she decided to move to St. George to be closer to them.

She became very involved with Taylor Church thru her niece and nephew and loved her church family. She was a part of a Ladies Group that met and enjoyed playing cards and eating together. She also was an usher/ greeter at the church. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior on May 31, 1994.

Aunt Ginger enjoyed being around people. She volunteered for many years with the Cancer Society at St. Vincent's Hospital, being a proud breast cancer survivor herself. She also worked as a cashier for several years at the Winn-Dixie in Macclenny.

Ms. Virginia also had a love for animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, biological and adopted, and her siblings: Pearl, Ray, Inez, Dorice, and Majorie.

She leaves behind to cherish the memories, her daughter: Lynn "Sammy" Cothan of Arizona; granddaughter: Kathy Lindsey of Arizona; great-grandchildren: Vonna Lindsey and Elizabeth Lindsey; nephews: Scott (Sharon) Robst of St. George and Ed Robst of Jacksonville; niece: Ann Bosket of Jacksonville; as well as her church family and others.

A Celebration of Aunt Ginger's Life will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Taylor Church with Pastors Mark Woods and Jim Cox officiating.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hawke M.T. Forbes and H.M. "Hank" Forbes Jr. of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny. "With Your Family In Mind". 904-259-4600. Please leave your condolences for the family in the online guestbook at www.forbesfuneralhome.net.
