William Lovell Hawkins

William Lovell Hawkins, age 65 of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at UF Health Downtown. Spending most of his life in Jacksonville, William was born to the late Mr. Thomas and Mary (Timberlake) Hawkins, Sr. in Savannah, Georgia on June 11, 1956. Mr. Hawkins worked for many years in flooring installation and also dedicated years of service to the United States Army. He enjoyed a simple life spent with family and friends. William loved Florida Gator football and was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Maybelle O’Neal; and his beloved wife just earlier this year: Mrs. Linda Hawkins.

He is survived by his daughters: Joy (AJ Disher) Crosby of Glen St. Mary and Krystal (William Wrenn) Waters of Jacksonville; grandchildren: William Waters, Mari Bender, Jerriod Bender, and Connor Ricchiuto; great-grandchildren: Railyn Smith, Cameron Brown, Magi Smith, and Laylah Bender; brothers: Tommy Hawkins, Jr. of South Carolina and Richard (Ina) Lynn of Georgia; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the chapel. Final memorialization will be by cremation.
