William Kennedy Obituary

William “Bill” Francis Kennedy, 83 of Macclenny passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Signature Healthcare of Middleburg. Bill was born on February 8, 1937 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Mr. Walter and Mrs. Mae Kennedy. He went on to serve in the United States Navy and was proud of his service. He worked for many years in Michigan as a service manager for General Motors and eventually settled in North Florida, where he worked at the Jacksonville shipyards and later as an independent truck driver. Later in life, Mr. Bill enjoyed spending time with friends he had made at the Macclenny Moose Lodge #2412 and loved to attend on karaoke nights. He enjoyed sharing stories of his adventures over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife: Mrs. Effie Kennedy; stepson: Bobby Pettyjohn; children: Matthew Kennedy, William Kennedy, and Michelle Kennedy.

He is survived by his son: Douglas (Nelba) Kennedy of Aurora, Colorado; daughter: Kathi Schlagel of Au Gres, Michigan; several grandchildren; numerous siblings; and other extended family members and friends.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
