H.M. "Hank" Forbes Jr. Owner/Funeral Director In Charge
Hank first started his funeral industry career at the age of 14, working after school at Henderson Funeral Home in his hometown of Crawfordville, Florida. After high school, he spent three years in the US Army before deciding that he would go to mortuary college. In 1990 Hank graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Since, he has worked for corporate owned and independently owned funeral homes.
Hank's love of the funeral service comes from caring for and helping families in their time of need. He makes every effort to treat each individual family with the dignity and respect he would expect his own family to receive.
In his free time, Hank enjoys Florida State Seminoles football and spending time with family and friends. Hank has three children, Hawke, Amy and Jillian, as well as three grandchildren.
Hawke M.T. Forbes Licensed Funeral Director Intern / Manager
Hawke started working in the funeral industry at the age of 12, helping his dad with funeral services.
Hawke is a 2014 graduate of Baker County High School and a 2018 graduate of Florida State College at Jacksonville, with his Associates of Science in Funeral Service. In his free time, Hawke enjoys hanging out with friends and family, spending time outdoors, and attending sporting events and concerts with his girlfriend, Kelsey.
He is a Florida notary public and is also on the Baker County Recreation Advisory Board.
Hawke is the office manager in Macclenny and oversees everyday operations.
Evan M. Barrett Family Service Associate
Evan Barrett is a lifelong resident of Baker County. A 2014 graduate of Baker County High School, Evan recently graduated from the law enforcement academy in Lake City. He is one of four brothers. In his spare time, Evan enjoys being active, Georgia Bulldog football and visiting family in Berrien County, GA. He has been working with Forbes Funeral Home since 2014 and is currently employed as a deputy with Baker County Sheriff's Office.
Toree Jones Lee Receptionist / Family Service Associate
Toree Jones Lee is a Jacksonville native, but has been a resident of Macclenny since 2008. She is a dog mother of 3 sweet pups and recently got married to her high school sweetheart, Colton Lee. She is a 2015 graduate of Baker County High School and has her Associate's in Arts Degree and is taking classes towards her Bachelor's degree, graduating next spring. She loves spending time with her family and pups. She has lived in Florida her whole life so you can often catch her at the beach or supporting the Florida Gators on Saturdays and Jacksonville Jaguars on Sundays!
Outside of the funeral home, Toree is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Florida.
She is passionate about learning new things and meeting and helping people.
Toree has deep roots in the funeral business. Her great grandfather was T.J. Giddens of the original Giddens family (Giddens Funeral Home/ Giddens-Griffith/ Hardage-Giddens).
Toree is a funeral associate at the funeral home and enjoys working hand in hand with bereaved families.
Kelsey Strickland Family Service Associate
Kelsey is a lifelong resident of Baker County and is the daughter of Riley and Delicia Strickland. She is a 2017 graduate of Baker County High School and is currently in the nursing program at Florida Gateway College in Lake City.
Kelsey loves attending concerts and following college softball. She has a boyfriend, Hawke Forbes, as well as two cats, all whom she loves dearly.
Brian C. Salter Family Service Associate
Dr. Brian C. Salter is Lead Pastor with First Assembly of God of Macclenny, Florida since March, 2019. A native of Bainbridge, Georgia, he has over 14 years of active duty military service as an Army Bandsman and a Navy Chaplain. He has most recently been endorsed as a Community Chaplain for the Baker County, Florida area by the Assemblies of God. He holds an earned Doctor of Ministry degree with Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. His wife, Liberty, is Program Manager with Jacksonville Women's Center (Teen Challenge) in Jacksonville, Florida and they have 5 children. Dr. Salter has a heart of compassion for bereaved family and friends and stands ready to serve you!
Larry Combs Family Service Associate
Larry Combs is a lifelong resident of Baker County. To be specific, he was born at the corner of Reid Stafford and Smokey Road! He was a longtime painting contractor who is now enjoying his retirement with his wife, Mrs. Janie. He has 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He and Mrs. Janie are new members at Mt. Zion New Congregational Methodist Church in Macclenny. Mr. Larry enjoys serving family here at the funeral home.
