Our History

Forbes Funeral Home is family owned and operated with 25 years of funeral industry experience. H. M. "Hank" Forbes Jr and his staff are committed to providing quality, dignified services at the most affordable prices in the area.

The loss of a loved one is very emotional and can seem overwhelming. At Forbes Funeral Home you will find caring professionals to offer knowledgeable assistance in the numerous decisions that must be made. We provide respectful funeral, cremation, and memorial services that celebrate the memories of a loved one. We care for each family with the same respect and dignity we would personally expect in a time of loss. The utmost level of compassion is what you will find at Forbes Funeral Home.

Services can be as varied and unique as the person being memorialized. Forbes Funeral Home believes that all services should suit the preferences and personalities of our client families and their loved one. There is never any pressure to purchase any unnecessary merchandise.   • H.M. Hank Forbes Jr.

    H.M. Hank Forbes Jr., Owner/Funeral Director In Charge

    Hank first started his funeral industry career at the age of 14, working after school at Henderson Funeral Home in his hometown of Crawfordville, Florida. After high school, he spent three years in the US Army before deciding that he would go to mortuary college. In 1990 Hank graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Since, he has worked for corporate owned and independently owned funeral homes. Hank's love of the funeral service comes from caring for and helping families in their time of need. He makes every effort to treat each individual family with the dignity and respect he would expect his own family to recieve.
    Hank and his wife Dana have a son Hawke, and are members of Christian Fellowship Temple in Macclenny. Hank also has two daughters, Amy and Jillian, and a granddaughter, Baylee and grandson Braylon.

    Hawke M. T. Forbes, Funeral Assistant/Monument Sales

    Hawke started working in the funeral industry at the age of 12, helping his dad with funeral services.

    Hawke is a 2014 graduate of Baker County High School. Formerly a student at Florida Gateway College, he is now enrolled in the Funeral Services program at FSCJ, wrapping up his Associates of Science degree in Mortuary Science. In his free time, Hawke enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding in his Jeep, and following Florida State Seminole football.

    Hawke handles monument sales at the funeral home, as well as assisting on everyday operations.

  • Keith Mobley

    Keith Mobley, Operations Manager/Funeral Assistant

    Keith Mobley is a lifelong resident of Lake City. After graduating from Columbia High School, he served in the Florida Army National Guard and recently retired from the Lake City Fire Department after thirty seven years. Keith has been involved in the funeral industry for many years. Keith and his wife, Alice have 7 children and are blessed with 10 grandchildren. They also enjoy hunting and fishing in their spare time.

  • Evan M. Barrett

    Evan M. Barrett, Funeral Assistant

    Evan Barrett is a lifelong resident of Baker County. A 2014 graduate of Baker County High School, Evan is a student at Florida Gateway College, currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program. He has plans to pursue a career in Law Enforcement. He is one of four brothers. In his spare time, Evan enjoys being active, Georgia Bulldog football and visiting family in Berrien County, GA. He has been working with Forbes Funeral Home as needed since 2014, but recently came to work full time in May of 2018. Evan takes pride in being able to serve his community.
