Obituary

Dennis “Bimbo” Olon Hodges, age 48 of Macclenny passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his residence. He was born on February 23, 1972 to the late Mr. Buford and Shirley Mae (Waldo) Hodges in Gainesville, Florida. “Bimbo” was a lifelong Baker County resident who was loved by many. He was known for his outgoing personality and was one who never met a stranger. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend. He spent many wonderful years with the love of his life, his wife, Mrs. Diane (Teston) Hodges. He was her fishing partner, dancing partner, and best friend. He loved to sing John Conlee and Hank Williams Jr. songs for her, as well as his own silly songs he would make up. He treasured the time he spent with his kids and grandchildren. Dennis was a hardworking man and for over twenty years owned his own drywall contracting business, “D and D Hodges Drywall”. In his spare time, “Bimbo” enjoyed fishing, hunting, and collecting antiques.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his beloved wife, best friend, and companion: Mrs. Diane Hodges of Macclenny; daughters: Destiney Teston of Macclenny and Amber (Zach) Graham of Glen St. Mary; son: Joshua Teston of Macclenny; seven grandchildren; brothers: Ray Hodges of Baldwin and Charles Waldo of Sanderson; best friends who became brothers: Rock Rhoden (as well as his parents, Tommy and Tina Rhoden, who became a second set of parents to Dennis), William Gainey, Victor Crowe, Ray Wheeler, Richard Ellis, Chris Rewis, and Brad Hodges; as well as nieces, nephews, and numerous other extended family members.
